Double Embossed Thank You Card

I learned a new embossing technique from Stampin' Up! called double embossing. The instructions they gave didn't work for me so I had to improvise.

I embossed patterned paper with my Cuttlebug and a textured embossing folder. It works and looks better if you use a embossing folder with a bold design.

I then inked the raised part of the embossed design with a VersaMark watermark stamp pad, covered the ink with black embossing powder and heat set it.

I won't tell you how many times I had to repeat this process before I got it right but I finally did! I used Mother's Day Bouquet for the flower layers and here's the result!

Yee-haw!

I was going to enter this layout into a contest but I wasn't able to finish it in time. I am a very slow scrapbooker... very slow. I add stuff and then I take it away, then I add something else and take that away.

Anyway, this is what I finally came up with. It has no pictures, as usual, but you get the picture (no pun intended!). It will eventually have more of the pictures of my mother and I at the Cricut Stampede.

I used Elegant Edges for the loopy background, Cricut Lite Yee-haw cartridge for the title and desert scene, and Old West and my Gypsy for the barbed wire.

Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Card

My family will be going to two weddings in July, so I decided to go on and get the wedding cards done now. I have several cartridges with wedding images on them and ended up using the Sweethearts cartridge for the groom and the Wedding cartridge for the bride's dress. Just like a bride and groom should, these images fit together perfectly!

I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the "Mr. & Mrs." title also.

The dress was originally just plain white card stock but it just didn't pop. My mom had a couple of scraps of beautiful fabric type paper that I cut and added to the dress along with the little pearls on the top part of the bodice of the dress. Now it pops!

Mother's Day Scrappin'

I hope all moms had a wonderful Mother's Day! I enjoyed my Mother's Day from beginning to end! My husband and son treated me like a queen!

My son took this picture of me scrapping on Mother's Day!

National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! I spent the day scrapping with my mom and my best friend! Such a wonderful day! We had pretzels, cheese and crackers, and lots of yummy romanoff sauce and fruit! My romanoff sauce has lots of rum in it... maybe too much since you can almost drink it!

In between eating, talking, and laughing, I was able to finish one project! I have a picture of my mother and I at the Texas Stampede that I will put on the layout once I get it printed.

I used the Yee-haw Cricut Lite cartridge and the Cricut Stampede My Pink Stamper clear stamp.

Even though her lipstick is a little smeared and her wig isn't on straight (maybe because she had too much romanoff sauce...), I think it turned out really cute!

My E2 and a Gift Card Holder

Last night, my Cricut Expression 2 5th Anniversary Edition (E2) arrived!

Before I could open the box and play with it, I had to cook dinner... Ugh!!! Eating is highly over-rated...

My first project with my E2 was a gift card holder for a graduate. I used 3 Birds on Parade for the bird and Wild Card for the gift card (the pattern paper part).
